WHAT WE BELIEVE

Mt. Zion Baptist Church believes in one God who exist in three distinct co-equal and co- eternal persons being the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each deserving of our worship and obedience (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24; 1 Corinthians 8:4; 2; Corinthians 13:14).

We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and rose from the Grave (John 3:16; Romans 5:1-8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8).

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16).

We believe everyone is God’s creation and are made in the image of God, but all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23).

We believe Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who place their faith in Him as Savior and Lord (John 3:16-27; John 14:6-7).

We believe to receive Jesus as Lord and Savor should be accompanied by repentance of sin, confession of faith, and obediently responding to baptism as an identification with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4; Romans 10:9).

We believe the church as a body of believers has authority to evangelize the lost for Christ  Matthew 28:18-20) and equip the saved (Ephesians 4:1-16).

We believe in the literal return of Jesus to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:4-6).
